South Channel Garden Club was established 50 years ago. It gained its strength as a community response to the 1967 bushfires that ravaged the area. It holds meetings monthly at the South Channel Community Hall, McDowall Street, Middleton
Today, the Club is over 100 members strong and invites new members to share in its active program of events, excellent speakers at meetings, social gatherings, garden visits, free plant exchanges and bulk purchasing of garden materials.
The Club raises funds through membership contributions, plant sales, garden visits and light catering at community events. The profits from fundraising activities are distributed to charitable gardening related activities in the community.
